Over $15,000 Raised For Haiti Relief!

Generous Pirates fans joined with The Sam Dalembert Foundation to raise more than $15,000 for the Haiti Earthquake Relief effort at the SHU v. Louisville game on January 21st. Attendees donated about $7,500 to foundation representatives at the arena and Sam personally matched it dollar for dollar. Dalembert, starting center for the Philadelphia 76ers, is the only native Haitian in the NBA. He played center on the Seton Hall team that advanced to the Sweet 16 in 1999-2000. In a moving on-court plea during the first half, Sam urged fans to support relief efforts in his homeland, where many of his immediate family members and friends still live.
