Inconsistent Pirates
Seton Hall can’t seem to find a consistent approach to winning. After three consecutive home-game victories against
Cincinnati, Louisville and then 9th-ranked Pittsburgh, the Pirates lost a close away game to lowly South Florida in overtime.
They upset a top-ranked team one day only to lose to a less talented opponent the next.
The result is a 12-7 (3-5 Big East) record.
To secure a post season tournament bid, SHU must win all of its last four home games and at least three of the six remaining
away games. With a 19-10 (10-8 Big East) record, the Pirates would sit on the edge of the NCAA bubble while entering the
Big East Tourney. The next two road games – against #3-ranked Villanova on Tuesday and #17-ranked Pitt on Saturday – won’t
be easy. But in this league, any team can beat any other team on any given night.
Let’s hope it’s Seton Hall’s turn this week.
