NEW NEWARK PUB

Pirates fans now have another place to go before and after basketball games at the Prudential Center. The first microbrewery in Newark – once known as the "beer capital of the world" – has opened at 44 Commerce Street. Port 44 Brew Pub, a bar/restaurant, is just three blocks from The Rock and within minutes of Penn Station and other downtown spots. It can seat nearly 300 table patrons and has a 50-seat bar area. It features home-brewed ales and stouts on tap, plus standard brands and two Cricket Hill beers made by a Fairfield, NJ brewery.
