PIRATE BLUE FEATS

Two recent events sponsored by the Pirate Blue Athletic Fund were hugely successful: the 3rd Annual Beefsteak Tip-Off Dinner in Walsh Gym on September 29th attracted a record-breaking crowd of more than 400 – its third straight sell-out. It raised over $40,000 for SHU Athletics, a 60% increase over funds garnered at last year’s dinner; and the Coach Mike Sheppard Golf Outing, held October 10th at the Maplewood Country Club, drew a large group of golfers and nearly 200 for cocktails/hors d’oeuvres and buffet dinner. Members of the SHU men’s baseball team received their commemorative rings for winning the 2011 BIG EAST Baseball Championship. Hats off to Bryan Felt and his capable staff!
